Description
First published in Danish by Denise Paulme of “The African Negro Sculpture“. Over the past 50 years, artists and collectors around the world are becoming aware of the original and rich art in Africa. Masks and human figurines, wood carvings and metal work eventually found their natural place in the art world. Denise Paulme, head of the Africa department at the Museum of Man in Paris, illustrates both the production, the religious context of art and its development in different strains.
