Description
This catalog presents 122 objects or groups of objects, grouped into 14 chapters geographically corresponding to the basic schematic groups of black African art. All replicated objects come from some Belgian collections were chosen for their high level of representativeness in aesthetic terms, as compared with tribal art from which they originate as compared to the sculpture in its universality: the entire range sculpted objects from the black African traditional art is represented here. The majority of objects (118 of 122) covers most of the tribal groups in West and Central Africa, a major area of Primitive Arts Black Africa: the set is representative of plastic expressions and styles.
